Argentan is a town of contrasts, as is often the case with towns that suffered particularly from the destruction of the Second World War. The Normandy town saw furious fighting in its streets in 1944! The city's architectural and historical heritage is therefore largely recent. However, if you take a walk in the Saint-Martin district, you will see the thousand-year-old history of the Norman city resurfacing from the past: private mansions from the 16th century, the Château des Ducs built in the Middle Ages, the Saint-Germain church...
